Glycine max
Robust vegetable soybean with hairy pods, bushy growth and tasty seeds.
The pods are harvested young and the large, deep green seeds are eaten as a snack. To do this, the whole soybean pods are briefly cooked in hot water and salted. The seeds are then sucked out and have a slightly sweet, nutty taste with a crunchy texture. As they ripen further, the kernels turn black.
